A collection of approximately 10 hours of field recordings made in South Tarawa, Kiribati, by Simon Seligmann in 1985. The recordings include examples of traditional songs (Kamgateiti - choral forms, etc.) and modern folk music. The primary purpose of the research was to learn more about the traditional Gilbertese poetry, known as kainikamaen.
These recordings can be played by anyone.
