James Kippen North India Collection

A collection of field recordings made by Dr James Kippen in 1981-2 as research for his PhD on 'North Indian drumming and its social context'. The collection focuses on the Lucknow style of tablā playing demonstrated by Afaq Husain Khan from Lucknow, India. It features recordings of tablā performances, interviews with tablā players and teachers, and private and group tablā lessons.

These recordings can be played by anyone.
