    Part 7: Discussion of Ekero Centre (continued), its community hall, and remarks on success of mixed-use plan; Ralph Erskine's [RE] scheme for housing and schools at Sandviken, Sweden, 1962-72, with dwellings planned around courts and areas for communal utilities; remarks on the local politics of Sandviken and its effect on the scheme; economic difficulties which prevented inclusion of workshops and shops in the scheme. Discussion of lack of public appreciation of important issues in architecture, and uninformed media coverage of the subject. Discussion of difficulties arising with client over scheme in Holland, and of the need to balance different qualities in human nature. Description of working conditions in Sweden when RE arrived there, and of reasons for the flowering of Swedish culture at that time. Remarks on the Ark building, and the use owners have made of it.
