Description
Two speakers talk about the male speaker’s work at Broadbottom Mill. He started as a piecer at the age of thirteen and ended up carrying out repairs on machinery in spinning mills throughout the UK. They briefly reflect on the changes they have witnessed during their lifetime in Charlesworth. Broadbottom’s refers to Broadbottom Mills, built in the early 1800s just to the northwest of Charlesworth. Hattersley is the adjacent village to Broadbottom. Leamington Spa is a town in Warwickshire.
