Description
Vincent describes the decline of the Lancashire textile industry. Preston (to the northwest) and Stockport (to the south) are nearby towns. Mahatma Ghandi (1889-1948) was a pivotal figure in India’s post-war move towards independence and famously visited the UK in 1931.
