Educated at a public school in Tillingham. His father was from Sudbury, Suffolk, his mother from Purleigh, Essex. Can read and write and in English. Religion: Protestant. Occupation: farm labourer. Item note: Alfred reads the Parable of the Prodigal Son (taken from Luke chapter XV, verse 11-32).
